About 6th and 7th CPC

The 6th Central Pay Commission was implemented in 2006, introducing the concept of Pay Bands and Grade Pay. The 7th Central Pay Commission, implemented from January 1, 2016, replaced this system with a new pay matrix with distinct levels.
